Summary:
This Mask Flame Retardant Performance Tester is is mainly used to test the burning performance of medical masks after contacting the flame at a certain linear speed. It is a special test instrument for the flame retardant performance of medical masks. It is also used for the determination of the flame retardant properties of woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, coated products, laminated products, etc. such as continued burning, smoldering and charring tendency.
The Flammability test procedure evaluates the flammability of medical textiles including face masks, surgical gowns, and drapes. The test method is designed to comply with 16 CFR Part 1610. This test is required by the ASTM F2100 (Standard Specification for Performance of Materials Used in Medical Face Masks) to ensure that all face masks meet the requirements for Class 1 flammability. Testing is also required for 510(k) submissions to the FDA. In addition to the Flammability test, Nelson Labs can perform all ASTM F2100 testing.

Principle:
When a medical mask is accidentally exposed to flames, its flame retardant performance is directly related to the safety of medical personnel. The flame retardancy of masks is one of the important physical indicators to measure the quality of medical masks. The test principle of the instrument is to install the mask sample on the head mold sample holder in a simulated actual use state. The mask with the head mold sweeps over the igniter with a constant flame height at a certain linear speed, observe the mask combustion, and record the continued combustion and smoldering Time to judge whether the mask is qualified.
